| Plantforce are pleased to announce that they were awarded 2 gold leafs, 1 silver leaf and 1 bronze leaf along with a special commendation from the judges for outstanding project design at the recent annual Efig awards dinner held at the Birmingham Botanical gardens. During the evening ‘mystery guest’ Elvis Presley alongside chairman Thomas Palfreyman presented a total of 36 awards to members including Plantforce in recognition of their excellent standards of work in the categories of design and installation, maintenance and for technician excellence. The gold, silver or bronze leaf awards were collected by members from Elvis himself!
The Annual Awards Dinner celebrates the achievements of our industry over the previous year. In fitting style, this year’s evening began with a champagne reception in the glass houses of Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens followed by a three course dinner and the presentations.
Mystery guest Elvis Presley was introduced part- way through the evening in time to entertain guests over desserts. Members had probably guessed the identity of the mystery guest by then because of the dinner table ‘props’ – sunglasses, fake side burns and blow-up microphones. Members entered into the spirit of the evening by donning the props and ‘joining in’ with Elvis!
The Dinner and Awards followed a day of bespoke accredited training for members and others in the industry to develop and progress. Tailored specifically to the needs of our industry, eFIG training is the only bespoke interior landscaping training available.
Darren Stobbart and John Hands were delighted to recieve the awards and thanked everyone at Plantforce for their dedication and hard work in helping to achieve the awards and also thanked Efig for a great evening and the continued hard work and efforts in promoting our industry. |

Save your life..buy a pot plant, it filters deadly office gas. Not only do they brighten up the office, but office plants could also save staff from killer pollution. The foliage soaks up dangerous ozone produced by photocopiers, printers and air conditioning units. Common plants such as the mother in laws tongue (sanseveria) Spider plant (chlorophytum) and sweetheart plant (philodendron) are the most effective, US experts found in tests. Ozone levels in offices are ranked among the world\'s greatest public health risks. More than two million people die each year from polluted indoor air, according to UN statistics. The gas can cause fluid on the lungs, haemorrhage and inflammation.
